The Calpeper Minutemen®

“As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind.”
~ Thomas Jefferson
(Letter to his nephew Peter Carr, 19 August 1785)

Minutemen were civilian colonists who independently organized to form militia companies self-trained in weaponry, tactics, and military strategies from the American colonial partisan militia during the American Revolutionary War. They were known for being ready at a minute's notice, hence the name. Minutemen provided a highly mobile, rapidly deployed force that enabled the colonies to respond immediately to war threats. The minutemen were among the first to fight in the American Revolution. Their teams constituted about a quarter of the entire militia.

The Calpeper Minutemen® consist of senior members who have successfully achieved all of the required C1-C5 training, and have likewise received additional, independent and professionally certified training sufficient to qualify for an 'instructor & teaching position' within the Calpeper school of martial arts.
